We had started a weekly prayer meeting with the Segi Lifegroup in church every Thursday morning at 7am.
Last week, as usual, I woke up at 5.30am and beat the jam to get to the church at around 7 plus. But when I reached there, nobody was there yet. And I waited for a while, still nobody came. Then I called Ruth, who suppose to have the keys to open the door. No answer. Then I called the boys. To my surprise, they told me that Ruth din tell them that there's prayer meeting today, and she din come to pick them up.
After waited for a few more minutes, I decided to just leave, all grouchy in my heart. "How could Ruth not informed me that she couldn't make it today!? Does she know how early I got to wake up, how long I need to be stuck in the jam to reach the church, and how long I got to be stuck in the jam again to get back to work! Now I've just wasted a few hours of precious sleeping time for no reason..." I was just frustrated.
After a while, I received an sms from Ruth, "Sorry, this week we will make the prayer meeting on Friday."
At that moment, my immediate reaction was, "no thanks! I already came this week and wasted my time. I am not gonna come again tomorrow!" And I din reply her anything.
Then, God spoke to me.
"You know what, you absolutely have the right to be grouchy and you really don't need to come for the prayer meeting if you are coming just because Ruth called for the meeting and asked you to come..."
"But if you are here because you want to meet with God, spend time with God and talk to God, then no matter what goes wrong, what's the obstacles or how much travel time you need to sacrifice, wouldn't you will still be excited and happy to come?"
I felt convicted in my heart immediately. But at the moment, my answer to God was, "ok, I got it... But let me think about it first. I am still unhappy, at least let me take a break for this week and I will make it for next week then..."
Silence. And after a while, God spoke again.
"Remember Job? I just had a bet with Satan again, he said that you definitely will not be coming tomorrow, but I told him that I believe you will come."
I believe you will come.
Now, how could you not be amazed and totally surrender when God tells you that He believe in you.
