One judge single-handedly overturned Proposition 8 in the US yesterday. Proposition 8 is a publicly voted ban of same-sex marriage in the state of California.
Now, the overturn of Proposition 8 not only means that same-sex couples can get married legally in California, it also means that kids at school, as early as kindergarten age, could be taught that there's no difference between same-sex and opposite-sex marriage. Now imagine your 5-year old son coming home from kindergarten telling you, "daddy, I am gonna act in the kindergarten open day skit. Steve and I will play husband and wife."
As I was reading through the news, what shocked me was a picture of two female having a wedding ceremony, both of them are actually reverends of a church. It reminds me of a friend in the church who once told me that in his formal church, his youth pastor is actually a gay and married with a husband. Everyone in the church knew it and had a silent agreement not to talk about it, so everything was fine.
Now if the leaders in the church is also showing people that same-sex marriage is OK, who's suppose to tell us what's right or wrong is God's eyes?
Can anyone show me any scripture in the Bible that proves God approves of same-sex marriage?
(Disclaimer: This post by no means trying to discriminate gays. I have gay friends and I love them just like anyone else. Put it this way, it's like you hate cigarettes but you have a best friend who smokes, so while loving this friend, you also believe that he should quite smoking and smoking shouldn't be encouraged.)
